Are You Comfortable Being Comfortable

Are you comfortable being comfortable? What does that mean you may ask? No matter how negative a situation can be or no matter how complacent you may be, are you satisfied with the state you are in or the choices you have made?

Often times, we get caught up with being average because we don’t desire to put forth effort. We make so many excuses for not excelling. A few years ago I started blogging. Why, because I love to write and share my thoughts with the desire to give people a simple insight on situations that may seem complicated. I started off strong but soon I started slacking off. I started making excuses to explain why or why not. At one point, I stopped all together. I got comfortable with the excuses I was making. One day my daughter (Jerrika J. Hinton) asked that very question, “Daddy why did you stop blogging?” After allowing me a couple of excuses she replied, “Daddy people make time for what is important to them.” My response was, you are absolutely right. I could not debate that so i just accepted it.

We have so many ideas and start so many projects that never get finished. Whats your excuse? We have to remember that slow doesn’t mean no. It’s just simply delayed for a while.

I learned from the experience so when I feel myself getting comfortable, I refocus, grab my laptop or my phone and start writing. Now, I am blogging again. What’s my motivation? If I can write something that can put a spark in at least one person’s life, it is worth it.

If you have been sitting on success life changing situations it’s time to get uncomfortable and do something about it.
