There Is A Difference
I saw this image on Facebook and it really caught my attention. Are their levels of friendship? If I have known you longer, does that make you a better friend than someone that I’ve known for less time? That’s a very interesting question.
Let’s analyze. Okay so, Bones and Corn have been friends since kindergarten. They have been friends for over 20 years. Over those twenty years, Corn has had some major struggle in his life. He has had financial difficulties over the years. He has been divorced during this time and had to start over in life. When Corn needed Bones, he was always busy and never had time to give support. There was always an excuse.
During that time, Corn met Splitter and they became good friends. When Corn needed Splitter, he was always there. If he could help directly, he was always encouraging. Splitter never turn his back on Corn.
When friends are experiencing difficulties, we can’t always do what’s needed. But we can always give support and encouragement. Sometimes just hearing, “It will work” out gives us the faith that it will get better.
The length of the friendship doesn’t determine the loyalty of the friends.
Always take the time to listen.
You never know how valuable a listening ear can be.
