The Importance of Timing

Why aren’t things working out right? It seems like everything that I do ends up in failure status. Is it me? Reality check, for everything there is a time and a season. Always remember, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible,” (Matthew 19:26).

There are many times in our adventures when things just seem to be off and don’t go according to plan. We get frustrated and blame everyone and everything for our setbacks. Maybe we should look at things from a different perspective when our projects or life-changing events don't work out. Could it possibly be the timing that we have chosen to pursue this? Like starting a business. Some businesses succeed and some fail. There are many reasons a business may fail. There may not be enough finances to fund the business. Instead of waiting until we are financially prepared, we launch our business. If you don’t have the finances to support a business it’s the wrong time Don't misunderstand what I'm saying by stating that, you shouldn’t have faith. Of course, you should. The key is to have faith in a well-prepared plan.

Another example is asking someone for a favor. Just because your friend didn't help you when you asked doesn't mean he or she didn't desire to. It might have been a difficult period for them also. They were probably torn up on the inside because they could help. Now because they couldn't and you felt they were able, you are not speaking anymore. Once again you may have asked at a bad time. Timing is important. There may not always be a perfect time but you can work toward doing things when the timing is good. This concept can apply to many phases of our lives. Relationships, marriage, children, or changing jobs. The list can go on and on.

So the next time you want to leap at an opportunity take a second to see if it’s the right time. The opportunity may be great but the timing is always important.
