Parenting Is Forever
When is an parent not a parent? Every parent dreams of the day when there children graduate high school and move on to the next phase of there lives. The excitement of an empty nest is so exciting you can hardly wait. As children move out and go to college, the military or pursue what ever career they choose the house is quiet again. Then one peaceful Friday night the phone rings. As you say hello the voice on the other end says, Mom or Dad I have a problem. If you didn’t know already you realize that day that parenting doesn’t stop when children leave. You come to the realization that parenting doesn’t end because parenting is forever.
Our desire for our children is to be successful in whatever they choose to do in life. Every parent should remember during their early adult life we made many mistakes. Making decisions that were good, bad, right or wrong we tried to make it on our on. Sooner or later we had to make that call. Mom, Dad I need help. For some reason for a boy Mom was always first because he feels Mom will be more sympathetic. For a girl Dad is first because they know they will always be Daddy’s little girl.
We should always be there for our children, grandchildren or anyone that’s looking for wisdom and guidance from an adult. There are so many variables in life and at some point in our life we need or needed support. So on that note just in case you haven’t realized by now parenting is definitely forever.
